If you want to overtake, you have to change lanes. Translated spatially, this meant at Renault in Brühl: out of cell and individual offices, into open multispace. Based on a jointly developed corporate culture, we developed interactive and diverse working environments that make new, agile cooperation possible. The corporate design created by us stylishly showcases the theme of “automotive” and is an inspiration for employees.
Anyone who walks into the car manufacturer's premises quickly realizes that more people work here in a comparatively small area than is possible in individual offices. Depending on the work situation, different areas are used — for example, traditionally at a desk or for teamwork in integrated think tanks. However, thanks to glass paneling, you feel part of the whole from anywhere. You see what's happening around you and stay in (gaze) contact with others — a basic idea of an open working environment. Because anyone who comes to the office instead of working from home wants to see their colleagues. And the employees here like to do that: A large window front combined with various natural shades and the typical Renault-typical yellow that runs through the multispace create a bright, friendly atmosphere in which everyone feels at home.

Despite the spatial network, certain situations require small retreats for 1:1 exchanges or confidential telephone calls. Renault has two telephone boxes for this purpose. They are each equipped with a traffic light that turns red when the box is occupied. This is the perfect combination of practical functionality and identity-creating design. The same applies to the road signs, which are set up at different corners: They explain the possible uses of the respective work area and provide orientation.

With the new working environments in Brühl, Renault has successfully changed lanes towards the future. On the one hand, because the open structure enables agile cooperation and various work situations. On the other hand, because the fresh corporate design creates identity and makes Renault's brand claim tangible: “Passion for life.”
