Office of the future for agile work

CID, Freigericht

CID develops intelligent software solutions and products that help companies digitize processes and make them more efficient. This requires intensive thought processes and creativity on the part of employees. These can be promoted by the appropriate working environment. That is why, with the “Smart Factory” in Freigericht in Hesse, we created new working environments for the software company that allow various work, exchange and break situations — the perfect environment for turning big data into “smart data.”

Many things are different in a new building with a view of the Spessart than in a conventional office. Because here a lot is more reminiscent of leisure fun than work: slides connect the individual floors, a “drained” pool serves as a seating and lying area, and stretched elastic bands between the rooms invite you to “hang out”. These playful elements are part of the idea behind the “Smart Factory”: It should be possible to work in a completely different way. Because anyone who feels comfortable at work prefers to work and therefore more productively. The employee restaurant, the open CID Diner and the CID Brain also contribute to this, where employees can watch multimedia content in order to relax between focused hours of programming or get inspiration.

“Smart Factory” can be experienced spatially

Because it is important both for identification with the employer and for customer perception to understand corporate culture in terms of space, we have taken up the topic of “Smart Factory” at various points through the materials and visual details used. For example, visible ventilation ducts made of sheet steel and plug-in metals on walls and ceilings create an industrial “factory” character. As a balance, natural materials and colors in shades of green and brown create a feel-good atmosphere. And the various theme rooms also convey the corporate identity and its unique selling point: For example, an oversized funnel in the entrance area stands for big data becoming smart data.
